Who thought, when we were saying, 'well 2021 will be better' that we would have another lockdown that will keep us under wraps until at least March.
Fellow restaurateurs are being kicked in the teeth and that's when they are already in the gutter. In true landlord style (not all I will admit) one restaurant I know, where the owner had worked years to get working and promote, even during 2020, has had his rent put up to such a huge amount that meant it was unviable — especially under present conditions — and has had to leave. The landlord now has to rent it again. By the time he has to wait and by the time he has had to reduce the rent for the first year to get somone interested, he may as well have kept the rent the same as it was and keep a reliable tenant.
It reminds me of the small Spanish bar that was going through a hard time; so waht did he do? Haapy Hours or 2 for 1 or other such promtions? NO, he put his prices up — and got less clients. Takes some believing doesn't it?
